So, for those of you who are sticking with folding metal chairs, are you decorating them at all? I don't care for chair covers, and I'm not looking to decorate all of them, but I'd like to do something to decorate the inner aisle chairs to create some sort of aisle decoration. We're getting married in an art gallery, so the rest of the venue is

What about something with a magnet? You can by those rolls of magnetic strips with the sticky backing and then attach them to whatever you're attaching to the chair. You could also do chair sashes tied on the side.

You could try the table cloth clips... they're designed to hold a table cloth onto the table (especially outside where it can get windy) but they might fit over your chairs.

If you used poms on a ribbon you could just slip the ribbon on the clip before attaching it. If they slip any, a piece of 3M double sided tape should hold it.

i'm a little disappointed people didn't have more ideas... i've just found out our ceremony will be black metal folding chairs instead of the pretty white wooden ones i was expecting, and i feel they will definitely need some dressing up - but haven't any ideas that won't logistically be a problem (the chairs have to be moved directly after the ceremony) or be prohibitively expensive...

Actually, I did come up with an idea the other day! Our wedding is on May 1 (May Day) and I had the idea to tie a bunch of ribbons around the folding triangle part of the side of the aisle chairs. Not in a bow, but just in a knot of lots of different colored ribbon so that they drape down. It should be colorful, easy to attach (just tie around and knot), and fairly inexpensive. :)
