Pissy vendors

I don't know if any of you have encountered much of this, but I remain amazed at how unprofessional some of these vendors are. I just sent out a big round of "thank you for your time" emails to vendors who I wasn't going to use, and a couple of them sent back kind of passive aggressive notes about how I should have interviewed them in person, or ( Read more... )

You know what amuses me? Vendors who type things like "lol" and "OMG" in e-mails! Now, I'm guilty of this when talking in LJ communities - I tend to type in communities in a very casual way, mimicking the way I'd talk to friends in real life. However, there are certain situations (academic papers, discussions with superiors in your field, YOUR BUSINESS, etc.) that demand a bit more of a formal tone!

I find this with my students as well! They talk to me like that... IDK Senora (I am a Spanish teacher), bla bla bla. And they don't think twice about it!

I'm a teacher too! Kids never cease to amaze me! When I was teaching fifth grade, kids actually wrote "IDK" and "kinda" in composition papers! Wow.

See, people send me bitchy responses and I tend to like to copy/paste them online on any or all review sites I can find.

That happened with the one place. I told them I wasn't going with them because they didn't have my date available (which was true although I didn't like the woman I would have had to work with) and they were rude to me! Seriously, I am glad we went with the place we went, but the other place won't be getting our business!

...I see this so much now, people who want to turn their little hobbies into some giant money-making career (sewing, cooking, making crap on etsy, etc.), and then have NO professionalism or courtesy....stories show up here regularly about unreliability on all levels...too bad!

That sucks.
I had a hotel call my house after I emailed that I wasn't going with their venue.. asking my fiance why we didn't go with them, why we wasted time getting the info, who did we end up going with...etc. My fiance pretty much told them off and thanked them for wasting his time with the phone call.
