Not every vendor requires a deposit, especially if their total cost isn't very high. There's no reason to offer to pay a deposit.

Lovely venue!

And yay, so glad you're going with AA 1148 - can't wait to see pictures!

Yeah, I kind of figured. I don't want to be rude or inappropriate, especially since we've known him since I was five. So I figure I'll just wait it out, figure it's on his calendar, and then when we do premarital counseling, I figure he can be the one to bring it up. XD

Thanks!! It's BEYOND gorgeous. It's like the $10,000 dresses-- we knew we shouldn't look because it'd be pricey, but we fell in love, and so far we're making a few changes to have it there. It's just so beautiful.

Yeahhhh, it's really perfect. My girlfriends were like, "YEP, SOLD, DONE." I'm not a frilly, poofy person, but I've got a very curvy shape, so the AA 1148 is really perfect for me. I'm excited. :D

Not a September OR a weekday bride - but your venue is GORGEOUS!

Thanks!! It's even better in person, if you can believe it. If you google the name and wedding, you'll come up with a ton of other weddings held there and OH MY GOD. It's ridiculous. I'm really excited. :D

I'm getting married on September 11th, 2010, and we've gotten a couple of looks in regards to our date. We wanted a Saturday in early September. We didn't want to interfere with people's Labor Day plans. And we have Jewish guests who would have been unable to attend on the 18th. So, the 11th it is!

Planning is going well. We've decided on wedding party, colors, venue, caterer, DJ, photographer, and officiant. I've gone bridal gown shopping and know that I like Maggies, and already have an appt for a Maggie trunk show happening tomorrow. Our STDs are printed and ready to go out with our (addressed but not written) holiday cards. I have an estimate from a florist, but might end up DIY. And I'm looking forward to cake tasting so much that it's bordering on pathetic :)

September 11 is my cousin's birthday; it doesn't have to always be associated with One Big Thing. Let's move on, already. Time to bring a little love back to that day. :D

Awesome! Yeah, we're about on similar targets. Good luck with the trunk show! Post pictures if you find The Dress. When we put down a deposit, I'll ask the women if we can try it on and get pictures. :D I'm actually really excited about that. My fiance can't have milk, so we're actually having pie instead of cake! I don't know if we'll have a pie-tasting, but the venue is associated with an amazing grill, so I think it will be pretty good.

Thanks for the 9/11 support! My fiance's take on it is basically "How long after Pearl Harbor was that day still A Day To Be Avoided?"

A pie tasting sounds fantastic!! Even if you already know what you want, I still think that's it's really important to verify that your guests will enjoy it :) And trust me - if I finally find The Dress, I'm totally posting pictures!

That's an amazing analogy and I love it. Take it back! It's not a sad day, it's your wedding day!!

Blueberry, apple, pumpkin, pecan... Yum! :D Oh, yes, personal verification of edibility will certainly be involved, even if I have to go to the restaurant and and order a slice myself. :)

Indeed! It's kind of interesting; after getting so much stuff done at the start of things, there's something of a lull. It's planning in stages, I guess.

Awwwww, thanks! You as well! It's adding layers and layers and layers of details as things get planned, and it's so neat to see how everyone pulls things together.

Date twin! We're also September 25. We have our venue booked as well as our photographer. My friend is currently sketching my wedding dress (she's gonna make it) and we're on the hunt for a caterer now. My dad's the officiant (he's an Episcopal priest) and we've just bought the URL for our wedding website so we can send out STDs (we've got a lot of people coming from very far away -- our STDs are just going to be hand written on old postcards of mine). Our wedding is at a camp, so it's very low-key, but I'm still eager to get the rest of the details hammered down.

That venue you've got is GORGEOUS! I love all the exposed wood in the reception hall.

Thanks! It's really something else. All the beams are recovered from barns across New Hampshire. The frame beams are all original to the barn. It's really gorgeous.
