This is a big community so I see no harm in asking.

We're looking at three Celebrants for our summer of 2010 wedding in New Haven, CT. Does anyone have any experience (personal, professional, or otherwise) with Mary Coburn (our current first choice), Roberta Koepfer of Rainbow Vision Ceremonies, or Shauna KanterAll three women look good and fit ( Read more... )

I'm a Celebrant as well, and I was in the same class with Shauna, and would definitely recommend her, as well as Mary (I've never met or spoken with Roberta, so I can't offer my opinion, sorry). But - a Celebrant is something that you want to go with your gut about - I'm sure that who ever you trust enough to create your ceremony will do a fabulous job! Go with who YOU think is best.

You're actually the reason we went looking for Celebrants in the first place. Our minister contacts aren't able to perform the ceremony without losing their ordination (the Presbytery ruled on that recently) so we can't go with any of the ministers we know, and we don't want a Quaker or completely civil wedding so Celebrants it is!

Thanks for the advice!

Oh, that made me smile! I'm so glad I could spread the Celebrant love!

That is awful about the losing the ordination thing with the Presbyterian Church :(

Good luck!!

Do you belong to the Knot? I've found that these types of questions always go well on the different local message boards there :)

I'm not a huge fan of The Knot. They're more heterocentric than weddingplans, and I don't need more of that in my life right now.

Thanks, though.

Sorry then :\ I've just personally found the local boards there really helpful.

Sounds like you picked some great celebrants, though!
