Tea length legs?

Mar 24, 2009 17:31

I'm wearing a tea length (actually, a bit shorter) dress for the wedding. I have a VERY bold Obama tattoo on my right calf - and my family seems to think I'm going to be covering it up with some sort of stocking/pantyhose. However, it won't cover at all if I wear nude colored pantyhose (which is fine with me, the point of this post is NOT about ( Read more... )

I have no advice for you on how to cover veins but I did want to comment that :

a) I like your dress, and
b) I like your tatoos :)

quick question-
how can you like her tattoos if you don't know what they are? (besides her mentioning an obama one?)

and for the lovely bride to be: i know your pain. i know how scary little things that you hate about yourself are, BUT! I doubt on your most beautiful day in your life, people will notice your veins. they will look at the happy smile on your face and the 'i'm getting married!' glow.
i think a sheer panty hose will even out your skintone, without looking like you're trying to hide anything.
(ps. i'm COVERED in a zillion tattoos and love other brides that arent trying to cover them up!)

I'm not the person you asked, but she had a dark mark on her arm that we can see.

My Mom has some veins on her legs, and sunless tanner does a pretty good job. It doesn't cover them completely, but it makes them hardly noticeable. (As in, you'd have to be extraordinarily close to see them.) Go to a spa that offers airbrush tanning, and they'll have a special goo to put on your tattoos so the color doesn't get on them at all. :)

Oh, really??? That'd be great. Is airbrush tanning able to stay nearly my same skin tone? I'm super pale, and I like it that way.

Hm.. they do have different options depending on how light or dark you want to go, but no matter what it will make your skin at least somewhat darker. If you really want to stay the same shade, maybe makeup of some kind would work better. I know a few brands even have spray foundations for easy application Christian Dior makes one called Airflash that I've used before. It has really nice coverage and is super easy to use.

Have you ever tried a spray tan? I have bad spider veins on my legs and the tan dulls the colour to the point you cant see them any more but doesn't cover my tattoos, which are much darker. I am uber pale to start with though (practically glow in the dark) and I suppose it depends how dark your veins are.

Thats my thought anyway, don't know if its helpful at all!

Thank you! And I'm very glow in the dark as well. But I love it that way. I think i'll give it a shot, assuming they don't have to go too dark.

go get a spray tan ahead of time and see what the results are, if you don't like it, don't do it for the wedding :)

also, i've seen (but never tried) the sally hanson stockings in a can stuff....it's less than $10 at the drug store, try playing with that?

I only ever go a couple of shades darker. I tried one of those booth ones once and even their 'light' come out too dark for me, but when you go to a salon they can adjust the colour and how much they put on. Do you get Sally Hanson airbrush cans in the US? They have a really light shade that I use and its great, if you don't mind DIY tanning.

I'm with you, I like being pale. I just look weird being all bronzed. Though living in Australia means 9 months out of the year I have to bathe in 30+ or I just fry...

Can you experiment with some tanning creams? I'm really pale and I have some veins on the back of my knees. Ban de soliel (sp?) made a sunless tanner/sunscreen that I always used to notice improved the look of those blue veins.

I'll look into it... the self tanner I used (the Jergens natural glow stuff) never seemed to hide them well.
