We're doing two readings and two "unity" ceremonies. Our order:
Welcome
Reading
Vows & Ring Exchange
Loving Cup Ceremony
Reading
Handasting
Pinning of the Sash
Closing

My officiant said that any ceremonial events should come after the vows. I'm relying on her to do the segues.

That was my thinking on the ceremonial events as well. Thank you!

Oh I love Grace Like Rain (that's Todd Agnew, right?)!! I wouldn't use it in a wedding, not really my style, but I would totally love to hear it at someone else's. :D

Yes...Todd Agnew. :)

Using the song, for me, was a little tribute to my mother.....it's a special song for her.... And, as it turned out...our wedding day was absolutely pouring all day long... and earlier in the day my mom called me and told me not to worry about things... that the angels were just taking their showers and getting ready for the wedding. And that just like water is poured on you when you're baptized, it's fitting that water pours on you when you're married.

And then I was even more glad that I chose the song. :)

Awww, that's sweet, and a really good way to think about it. :D I like Todd Agnew a lot, but as I said, just not my personality to use him in a wedding. I'm going for quieter stuff that makes people cry, haha. I'm thinking of using Mark Schulz's "Walking Her Home" for seating grandmothers and mothers, but only the first two verses and half the chorus, partly for time and partly because the last verse might be too emotional for one of his grandmothers because her husband has already passed. That song sure does make me cry though; I think Mark Schulz does that on purpose, haha.
