I know there have been a ton of posts concerning free honeymoon scams, but I just had to share my story because it made me laugh pretty hard

Though, I've done those vacation-in-exchange-for-your-attendance deals before, and they can be very rewarding. They usually feed you (though we went to one where they kept us for FOUR HOURS and didn't offer us anything other than coffee or hot cocoa. . .in the middle of JUNE) and you just say, "No thanks" to whatever they offer you. Then you get your voucher and go on your merry way.
We've got *counts* FIVE vouchers that we can use to go to Orlando (twice), Las Vegas, Virginia, and Aruba all in the next 18 months. And they offered to extend the time limit if we give them 30 days notice that we can't use them all up in that amount of time.
However, the last three we got from Blue Green Corporation was actually a deeply-discounted package rather than a "prize". Three vacations for two adults, all for less than $400. I checked them out before we accepted: They're legit. :D
you really do get free shit if you go to those, though. one of my co-workers went to a time-share thing for 90 minutes and left with 4 disneyworld passes. and my FSIL is going to a time-share thing this saturday and going to leave with a free week at some resort in hawaii. they go to hawaii every year, so lucky her.. she gets a free week on top of whatever they already had planned. pshhh must be nice. :P
