This isn't during the ceremony, but maybe the other could sign the license?

He could be in charge of escorting your mom down the aisle before hand?

However, unless he expresses some sort of disappointment about not having a job, I bet he really wouldn't mind. When you have a bigger wedding party, there are a lot of people who end up not really having a job to do, so he may not be expecting any big task. Maybe feel out your FH and see what he thinks?

I can understand. we are having a small non traditional wedding as well.
There will be no walking down the aisle, etc.
just a simple wedding in a Gazebo.
We both have our wedding parties.. but at this point since the wedding took a small turn.. the groomsmen and the bridesmaids will just have those titles.. there is pretty much nothing for them to do BUT be there as friends and share in the wonderful occasion. the MOH, my best friend and the BM FH's brother and best friend WILL have small jobs. Holding my flowers during the ceremony and holding my FH ring will be my MOH's job and holding my ring will be the BM's job.
It really depends on HOW many things you will have going on during the wedding and seeing if you can give the 2nd BM a job. talk to your FH and see what you can come up with... if anything just having him stand up there with you guys means a lot:)

What I plan on doing is having the last bridesmaid hold the ring, and then it will get passed down the row, and given to me by my MOH. Perhaps having one be incharge of keeping it safe, and the other giving it to the groom durring the ceromony?
