Note to self: do not plan coastal vacations during tsunamis

David heard about the quakes online last night before we went to bed. We said a prayer for the victims, and as we turned in I remarked to David that I wasn't too thrilled to have been reading about tsunamis while staying on the coast! In retrospect, David thinks he must have been awfully tired not to realize that the situation really Could affect

Want more vacation planning irony? This past week I've been planning a trip to Japan, for fall of 2012.

Worried about family near Tokyo, and honorh, though. She's in one of the prefectures hit hard by it.

Someone in her LJ flist is also a teacher in Japan, and is making use of her access to resources there (consulate, the teaching community, more immediate and precise news) to try to locate her.
