"At least the carpet's visible," she whispers back. No one seems to be up in the house, but she takes care to be quiet as she climbs down the stairs. Years of sneaking out of the mansion taught her to do so with the stealth of a ninja.

Alexa looks surprised at the girl's tenacity. Meekly, she does what she's told and sits down on the couch. She starts picking at the webbing around her mouth, really wishing she hadn't just taken off her mask.
Peter ducks most of the webbing, but manages to get his waldoes thoroughly entangled - they whine in protest, like little mechanical puppies. "Okay, okay, jeez!" he says, hopping off the table and following Alexa in.
