Or create a diversion. Y'know, find a pet store, sneak out with a little boa constrictor, let him out at a stategic point during the day... not that I in any way, shape, or form endorse that course of action.

At a cheap place? Twelve, maybe fourteen bucks. McDonald's still has the Dollar Menu, though, and a buck is still a buck.
