Are you trying to accomplish something with your land records exploration? In the event you need to clean up the title on your property I could give my professional opinion. This is what I do, after all. :)
I'm trying to document the history of our property for historical purposes, and to learn more about who was here when doing what, as well as to follow the title chain. The title had no issues when we bought the place, so I'm just trying to find out more from a cultural historian's perspective.
I am also trying to find out more about the tombstone I discovered last week near the house (1852).
However, I have no problem with tapping your expertise to validate my findings - there was a lot of land shuffling going on, and I've had to either rely on the deed references to the prior deed ("this being the same plot that was conveyed...."), or on the "charming" surveyors' descriptions where you hope that the boundary that belonged to "Smith" in the 1890 description didn't belong to "Jones" in 1885 description, and every surveyor started at a different point and went in a different direction (the best clue can be the total acreage).
Anyway, I made more progress today (I am finally in the pre CW time frame).
