Yes he's a great guy, I know him well. It's healing to me but more importantly it will be very healing to the hundreds of others who requested some sort of acknowledgment as to what happened to them while in Straight. We're in the beginning stages of a documentary about the History of Straight Inc. and the influence it has had on our country today. The problem has only gotten worse, it's still going on today. Time to do something a bit more dramatic.
I am surprised. I remember reading about this way back when I first joined DJ. It's pretty remarkable that someone came forward like this. Is there a class action law suit pending or anything?
Well we're working on that angle. Unfortunately the statute of limitations has passed but there are some possibilities of still bringing a law suit against those who owned and ran Straight, just have to be a bit smart about it. If we can prove someone's current physical health was effected, for instance, by Straight, that's reason for a law suit which would open up a window for everyone else to sue, if they so desired. Also no one in the program ever received copies of their "records" they have been withheld or destroyed, so that's another angle we can go after. We're also in the process of making a documentary about it. This is definitely a start though, we'll see what the future holds. :)
