Thanks, I appreciate it. Having gone through this three times now, I can say that the process of death sucks about as much hands-on as hands-off. Being able to remove some of the mess of approaching death is not a consolation, but it provides an opportunity to express love one last time.
Thank you. I decided to follow up with the manufacturer of the enhanced kibble they were getting due to Domino's skin/fur problems. A coincidence is entirely plausible, but if there's a common cause, I'd like my loss to be offset by others being protected from it.
Yes, mostly we had a really good time together while it lasted. I still find myself thinking one of them has jumped up on the back or arm of my couch, and I turn over carefully in bed so as not to crush any cats or get my feet bitten.
It's odd, the things I'm finding to be nostalgic over. Some of these characteristics were quite painful and annoying while still going on.
I'm going to my mum's tomorrow for a memorial service which groups all our losses in one place - including Gizmo, my brother's most excellent cat. He will have his own plaque in the Gazebo of Remembrance. We're also mourning some two-footed creatures.
I share your sadness and will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Thank you, and I of you. I've been fortunate to have had only a couple of big losses among the humans in my life. I'm glad that you have your family to share support with.
