It was finally time to see their child. Dream had promised them that they could visit their unborn baby within his realm, and they were finally going to do so. Del hid her smirk behind her hair as she leaned over to pick up all the cigarette buts he had dropped. It was cute seeing him so nervous, she couldn't help it.

Patch, love... She dropped the trash into an empty soda can on the table The baby will love you, you will love it, Dream will be pleased, we will all be happy.

She pushed at his hand holding the latest cigarette until it was out of her way, then crawled into his lap to kiss him. Breathe.

As the kiss ended, he chuckled. "Yeah, breathe, right, sure." He tilted his head. "Heck, I'll be only one there breathing, might as well breathe enough for everyone."

*Dream watched the parents and children speak, turning away after a moment and making his way quietly to the edge of the tiny dream of the infant minds. His back to the parents and children, he blended in well with the dark void beyond the nebulae of color, really visible only on the rare occasion when one would drift past him and show him in silhouette for a few moments. Parents, children, the talk of the love between them--and of mistakes. He felt it best to leave his sister and her imminent spouse to speak with the children undisturbed by his brooding.*
