Flea Circus Pondering

I don't know what I'd thought but I'd heard about the old Flea circuses for years. Radio 4 Extra ran a program on them last week. I think maybe I'd though they were trickery *not* real fleas... And human fleas at that! The invention of DDT & better hygiene with living conditions meant human fleas were now hard to obtain :-/ So they really were real

We went to the Walter Rothschild Museum this year they had dressed fleas there. These are the photos I took.
