Dear lord, this paragraph:

Eames is good enough to laugh. Arthur charts the fine lines of his kindness with the tip of his finger. If only we'd been rooted to the ground like trees, pushed up against each other with no room to look away. Maybe if we didn't have the whole world to run across.

♥ ♥ ♥

It's lovely to see fic from you again! It still amazes me how many things there are in our year-and-a-half-old closed canon that people can explore and expound on--like evolution of dreaming drugs? Never even occurred to me, completely fascinating. It was hard to read about Arthur literally tearing himself apart for his work and Eames having the most awful communication skills ever, but I really enjoyed the way you tracked their relationship without sanitizing it. And there was still humor to balance it all; the scene in the bar made me grin. IF YOU DUMP MARTINIS ON SOMEONE TO DEFEND A FRIEND'S HONOR, IT MUST BE LOVE.

Not the least because Nolan spent more time fleshing out the car chase sequences than on the ENTIRETY OF ANYTHING TO DO WITH DREAMSHARE AT ALL-- HOW DOES ANYTHING WORK, CHRISTOPHER NOLAN, NOT A SINGLE THING MAKES SENSE!! Though, I'm pretty sure that the evolution of dreaming drugs has been dealt with before in fic, and the fact that I can't immediately link you to it is solely a product of my poor record-keeping. Anyway! I'm very glad that you enjoyed it Yvi :')

It still bums me out that there was originally a scene where Arthur ducked down and pushed the accelerator with his hand, but for some reason it didn't make it into the final cut. But yeah, let's not even go into the ways Nolan apparently thinks gravity works BECAUSE DREAMS AND STUFF AND WHATEVER.

And really, even if there are other fics dealing with similar elements, that in no way negates the awesomeness of this fandom's creativity and the way it keeps impressing me (AND I MEAN THIS IN A NON-CONDESCENDING WAY) even now.

God. This was savage. The tracking of their relationship through this limbo, where even here they play games to protect themselves. The leaving and fuck, the moments that twist between them as Arthur relives their lives together and apart is such a thorough investigation to actually sharing dreams and memories. I loved it. It was devastating at times, the anger and confusion coiled between them.

But the end.

Wow. I have little more to say than wow and thank you for sharing.

BECAUSE THERE DOESN'T YET EXIST AN ORGANIZATION DEVOTED TO ERADICATING USELESS PEOPLE FROM THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH! ...DON'T GET ANY IDEAS, I WOULD BE GREATLY OPPOSED TO BEING ERADICATED

My god, Ifrit, I have missed your writing like air. This is so beautiful, from Arthur's assumption that Eames should just know (because it's easier, it hurts less to assume people just know and they don't--they don't get it, than to vpoice the words, because baring something like that, it's a risk, right?) to his realisation that no, it's not like that, that everything he thought he knew was wrong. To the end.

I loved reading this. I can't comment in any way that would make sense, because I'm still so much inside the story I can't see it as a whole. But reading it was amazing, all the feelings. I will definitely be back to reread.
