HI IFRIT, I'M BACK EONS LATER TO LEAVE A SLIGHTLY MORE COHERENT DETAILED ... LONGER REVIEW. :D!

THIS IS MY FAVOURITE LINE OF THIS WHOLE THING: "I wish," Arthur blurts out, his grip tight around the railing, "I wish you were on my team, Eames," and the next thing he knows, they're kissing. I had to stop and reread it over and over again because it is like a PUNCH TO THE STOMACH and Arthur is saying it out loud and also, god, I love your Arthur and how he still has all the intentness and seriousness that makes him Arthur, but he's also ALL THESE OTHER THINGS, *___*.

ALSO HOW GREAT IS SAITO???? AND MAL!!! I screamed with laughter when Cobb went I give you Arthur!, and Mal's speech on fighting for what she wants had me smiling like a loon.

IN OTHER WORDS: even though I am the most ignorant person ever when it comes to politics (THIS IS NOT EVEN MUCH OF AN EXAGGERATION), this was such a delight to read, ♥. /flops on you.

Wah, thank you so much Liz ;____; ♥ I think that it is probably a good thing that you do not secretly moonlight as a politician, because maybe you would have been frustrated by how simplified and plain old inaccurate everything is, haha XD But I am so glad that you enjoyed it...!

FUCK. HOW DID YOU KNOW ABOUT MY HORRID WEAKNESS FOR POLITICAL AUS, IFRIT, HOW DID YOU KNOW. It's the combination of idealism and cynicism that I love the most, and this Arthur is the PERFECT vehicle for it. You sketch out the depth of all the characters amazingly, and despite the Arthurness and the brilliance of Eames I think I'm actually fondest of the way you've written Cobb and Mal, dragging out all the good points and admirable angles of their personalities (and their relationship) that the movie could only hint at. Context is everything.

This image -- caught with the want to dab it away, Arthur curls his hands into fists inside his pockets -- is my favourite, because it sounds like something I would write (my shameful overuse of the word 'curl', let me show you it) and I love it when that happens, because it means that there are minds out there that fixate on the same small importances that I do, and that feeling of connection makes the story as a whole worm even further into my heart ( ... )

"CURL" IS AN AMAZING WORD AND IT SHOULD BE USED FOR EVERYTHING, FROM HAIR TO HANDS TO FINGERING TO WIND TO TENTACLES. EVERYTHING. As are political AUs, which should exist in every fandom, though actually there have already been good political AUs in this fandom so that's not really an excuse for-- WELL THEY SHOULD EXIST MULTIPLE TIMES. There's such a naturally wild, electric, cynical-yet-idealistic (yes, exactly) edge to the setting, much like in rock band AUs! And it's always so fun to drag in pundits and whatnot!

Hi hi, CJ icon :DDD

I ALSO ENJOY THE WORD 'EDGE' FAR MORE THAN IS HEALTHY.

It has long been my deepest and fondest wish to grow up into a person who is maybe a third as awesome as Claudia Jean Cregg.

Sorry, Cobb, I don't trust anyone who doesn't love fresh vegetables. Just reading you complain is making me want some sweet sweet shelling peas.

In other words: oh, I loved this story, but most especially the fair.

Ahahaha, that is probably why Cobb and Arthur even the campaign out-- Arthur eats enough salads to fulfill even Cobb's recommended daily intake of vegetables. XD But it's true, COBB IS JUST PLAIN OLD WRONG

Thank you so much...!

Wheeeee, epic fic from Ifrit! And what is with this fandom that conditions us to be mildly disappointed at anything shorter than 10k words :| I love ae_match to bits, but I've been craving something meatier :D

I can't believe you managed to make me interested in politics. I'm about as politically apathetic as someone from a dynasty of political activists can be, but I was so hooked on all the little details of their campaigns and speeches and crises. And not only was everything was so perfectly believable, it was also incredibly entertaining. Arthur's obsessive-compulsive meddling, Dom's haplessness, Eames's insanely attractive competence, Mal's fiery passion.. I could go on and on and on. I'm so completely invested in their lives that I can't help but wonder about things like: Why is Saito not Emperor of the World? What happened to the bacon? And, most importantly, who's going to become president?

Incoherent comment is incoherent D: TL;DR I love everything you write so don't ever stop ♥♥♥

Perhaps it's the ridiculous preponderance of WIPs-- they are so plentiful and so long that now it seems like that's the default way to write fic in this fandom (haha that could just be my bitterness toward WIPs causing me to overestimate their number) or maybe it's that the fandom is now old enough to want to tackle larger stories told from closer up! WHO KNOWS... WHO KNOWS.

Oh, you are too kind :'( thank you so much...! I think that the only reason Saito is not Emperor of the World is something like the reason why the first Mayor Daley didn't want to be President-- any position is a step down from being Mayor of Chicago, haha. XDDD And Arthur probably zombie-walked to the kitchen after Eames left and zombie-ate the bacon while being morose and thoughtful, zombie-dishwashed the frying pan, and then just didn't remember any of it later on fdlkgalkg

AS FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION... FISCHER WINS JUST KIDDING
