Reminds me of the first time I ever drove in Manhattan. I ended up there accidentally - got totally lost in New Jersey and was suddenly in a tunnel. Coming out the other end I said "oh crap, is that the Empire State Building?" I had to clue whatsoever as to where I was (thank goodness Ki grew up in Manhattant and guided me out). The traffic there is awful. The cabbies are notorious for cutting people off. Then, get this. It's halloween and we're smack in the middle of the Village Halloween Parade! It was bloody awful and took forever to get out of there.
seriously, driving around new york is probably one of my biggest fears. i don't even want to go NEAR the city. it's just too scary for me.
i'm pretty positive i would have just given up had i found myself in new york city. just - bham. turn the key, shut the car down, just sit like that in the middle of the street, demanding someone else come take the wheel and drive me out of the city.
