I appreciate all the points he's making. I agree with most of it, and where I don't agree it's because I just don't have enough information. Definitely stuff in there to think about; some topics that should be raised in this discussion more than they are.
It's not a great link, though. I wish more people were making the same points better (or maybe just that I was finding them). It's mis-titled, since it never really gets to where bad education comes from; more how not to go about reforming it. About the quality of writing I'd expect on MWK, and even then, it's a little disjointed. Jeff's post the other day was more coherent. Begs for someone to come back about how clearly his awesome DC school didn't teach essay structure.
I agree, but I like his style. He tends to write in stream of consciousness, and doesn't always completely finish his thoughts... And as I'm easily distracted, it works for me. I think it's less designed to offer a solution, and more to just get people thinking.
