I have been waiting for someone to write a gas prices/Impala fic. Love the banter between the boys; Dean being all frustrated and Sam doing his thing where he throws out suggestions even though he doesn't really like them himself. ;-)

*honk honk - the funny noise my nose makes when i'm blurting out laughs*

this was, ahem, priceless. and original, because it's totally relevant, totally believable, and totally them. great dialogue, and i can see Dean squeezed onto the bus/train/whatever, between the old lady with the blue-rinse hair and the orange shopping bag, and the fat guy munching on Cheetos between stops. dean'd be grimacing at sam ('this was your idea, doofus') and sam would be surreptitiously trying to poke the grip of the sawn-off back into the duffle...

maybe it's time to convert the Metallicar to LPG. it's a v8, yeah?

Hey, I'm glad you liked it. I really enjoyed writing it. Another alternative I didn't out in the story is a facetious suggestion from Sam to install solar panels on Metallicar's roof -- another idea Deano would immediately vote down.

Especially considering 67s average roughly 10 MPG, Dean's wallet definitely has to be hurting. @_@ Poor guy.
