Weasley Sweater

I've decided to tackle the Weasley Sweater for the Knitting Olympics and my first sweater.  I'm using this pattern, and I had a wee question to ask all of you.

The author of the pattern states that the sweater is made in the round, but it doesn't say exactly if the sleeves are also knit in the round.  It doesnt say to join in the round, and at ( Read more... )

You can start it on double pointeds and then move to a circ when you start increasing. But I don't see why doing it flat will be a huge problem. It's a cute pattern too, I hadn't seen it before.

awesome- i didnt start it on dpns cause i dont have any/dont know how (yet!). i guess ill just seam up the sleeves later when im finished.

Well, from reading it she hates to seam so it follows the sleaves would also be in the round. I'd add an extra stitch to each end if doing it in the flat for selvage?

Double points are easy. Cast on with one needle. Do the first row of ribbing like you normally would flat. Starting with the second row, knit 1/4 of the stitches onto dp#1, the next 1/4 onto #2, etc. It's best to start each needle with a knit, not a purl. And it doesn't matter if you have exactly the same number of stitches on each needle ( ... )
