I try to experience experimental things when I can because when you discover something amazing it can change your life. The problem is you have to wade through a lot of shit, not because they're bad but because experiments have to be prepared to fail. If you know you're in safe hands, then it's never going to be so exciting as when it might be

Road Movies, which includes the piece China Gates, which the pianist played at the Salon Project when I saw it in the Citz.

It's been a while since I last played that album and I really ought to dig it out again. I can't remember what was so good about it. I hope my opinion hasn't changed.
