I did that once too! It's fun! At my brother's wedding, I was talking to an old family friend I hadn't seen since I was 4. When I mentioned that I lived in Ames, he commented that Des Moines is the only city in the country which has both a Baker's Square and a Village Inn. Pillsbury owns both chains and won't put them both in the same market. I said that dashed my hopes of ever getting a Baker's Square in Ames, which wasn't good since the Village Inn in Ames was awful. "Really?" he said, "What's wrong with them?" I gave my tale of woe, including the time we went in, sat for 45 minutes and never saw a member of staff. We could have easily walked off with cash register and every pie in the place. "Well, it's good to hear these things, as my new position is as director of quality assurance for Pillsbury's restaurant division," he replied. I simply smiled. Within 3 months, the Village Inn had all new management, a remodel had begun, and they were a much better restaurant.
Very cool! It's always nice when something like that happens and the evil ones get their comeuppance. I plan on talking to my CEO tomorrow to see if it actually came up, but I hope so, I do hope so. If you haven't heard the tale or Rad St. Hell woe and the credit card story, remind me to tell you about it at Supercon. (I'm assuming you'll be there :)
