I converted the old auto shop by the High School into a laboratory! That's where I work AND live!

I didn't see any point in wasting time when I was only one building over Doctor Ashtear.

[Knuckles didn't know if the smile was genuine or not, but Knuckles supposed it couldn't hurt to play along until the human showed her true nature, if she wasn't already doing so. That tactic worked on the last human doctor he had worked with after all.]

You're big on security I see. [Knuckles tapped his namesake against the door with a grin.] That's good to know.

-She opened the door fully, allowing him inside. The lab was a pure example of controlled chaos. It was messy, yet somehow everything seemed to fit in place. Various machinery and other good were strewn about, several lamps set up around the room lighting numerous projects that she seemed to be working on.-

I can see why Tails would want you to work on replicating my Island's shields. I'm impressed.

What did you do in your own world before coming here?

I was an inventor, of course. Using scientific engineering to solve problems with technology. This ranged from practical house hold items to things like the Telepod... which is partly responsible for me being here, but that's a LOOOOOOONG story.

And while you may note some weapons around here, such as my many bombs, my gun, and the stun swords I'm working on, well... Developing weapons has only been for defense. My father is the one who got into military contract work... personally I'd rather not have to build weapons at all.

[Knuckles pauses then turns back to face Lucca.]

There's nothing to explain. I trusted a man who told me they were trying to make a better world though technology. When I found out he was lying to me and tried to undo the damage I did while working for him, he tried to destroy my island.

I don't know if I can trust you yet, but Tails does and he's been here longer than me, so I'm following his lead on this one.
