I'd been sitting on this couch for quite a while now, trying to make some conversation but not intrude too much. It was a difficult balance when I didn't know any of these people, and there seemed to be a lot of tension in the air ( Read more... )

I came out from the kitchen to find the potential slayer gone. "Where did she go? Shouldn't she stay here since she is a potential? And I mean Buffy is going to be back soon." I hoped. "We have enough room for her to stay." Sure Buffy was the one usually did stuff like this but she wasnt here and someone had to make sure Becca wasnt on the streets.

Walking away from the gang, I opened the front door. I exited the house to see Becca just starting to leave. "You know, You are more than welcome to stay here. We have the space and I hear our couch is very comfy to sleep on."

I looked down at the porch stairs before looking back at Becca. It was nice to have a girl in the house that was my age.

"Or you could always leave and come back when you are ready or something."

I smiled. "Besides, You dont know exactly what is out there to be on your own.

"Oh," I said, as Dawn offered to let me stay on the couch. I felt very touched. Part of me wanted to refuse, because it seemed rude to take hospitality from people I'd just met, but another part of me thought of the two notes and a bit of change in my wallet and decided to swallow my pride. "That's very nice of you. I-I mean, I've been staying in a motel, but I admit I'm low on cash." I smiled at her. "I won't get in your way for too long, though. I just need to get a job. There are fast food places here, right?" It was a small town, but surely there was a McDonalds or something.

"I'll just head back to the motel and pick up my bag," I said. "Would you mind showing me where the nearest bus stop is? I walked out here but it took me quite a while," I added.

"There is the doublemeat palace but you dont want to work there. Buffy worked there and she found a finger in the meat grinder. Lets just say, We've never eaten there again. You could always work at the Coffee shop. They sell good coffee. Or Maybe even the Ciemaplex. I think they are hiring." I smiled abit. "Dont worry about the buses. I can get Xander to take you. He is partically our chaufer. Except he doesnt wear the cheap suits." I laughed nervously.

I wondered if Buffy was coming home soon to find out that Faith and ,this new girl, Becca would be here. She would okay with Becca but not with Faith. Maybe Buffy will kick her out.

I smile at Dawn.

"You've all been so friendly. I'm... Well, I wasn't expecting it. After, you know, running from demons for two weeks, it's a nice change."

I grimace slightly at the "finger" comment.
"Finger? Eww. I ate at a Doublemeat yesterday." My stomach churns. "Oh well. I had a chicken burger. There can't be fingers in chicken, right?" Dawn doesn't look convinced. Uh oh. "I went to a coffee shop today. It was called the..." I think. "Espresso Pump? I liked it."

I smile when she says she'll get Xander to take me.

"That's very kind. I mean, I hope he won't mind. I don't know Sunnydale too well yet." I decide it makes sense to sit down on the steps, if I'm going to be waiting for Xander. "So have you lived in Sunnydale long? Is it nice? Apart from the, um, hellmouth issue."
