[Set far before the events of the movie. I figured I'd set something up that'd be backstory for both of us to work from? Tag if you'd like, edit what you'd like-but I wanted to set a tone for the characters. ;) ]

A car pulled up, and out stepped Alison. She said goodbye to her friends who had dropped her off, and made sure to thank the one who had driven the car. She waved as they drove off, and then headed in the house.

She dropped her backpack by the door, and, since she could hear that the TV was on, headed for the kitchen.

"Hey, dad!"

Charles stifled a smile. He leaned down and scratched their cat behind the ears, "Hey Sweetie."

He wrapped his arms around her in a hug, "How was school? Did you get any valentines?"

She hugged him back.

"It was good. And, yeah, I got a few. Some from my friends, a couple from people who make 'em for everyone in the class."

He lingered for a moment too long before he smiled tiredly," Cat's fed. And I thought we could order pizza. Or go out. Your choice sweetheart."

His hands shook ever so slightly as he carried his coffee cup to the sink. Hoping that she wouldn't notice.
