Please don't worry on our account; I had strangely a lot of fun with the beer run taxi guy and pelting downhill through the rain. And I did find the Ms. Pac Man in the airport, as advertised!
I can totally teach you to steer a kayak better if you want. A lot of it is based on your position -- some of the things you were doing would have worked if you'd been in the back and not the front, since the end you're swinging around matters relative to your direction of travel. Next time we're co-located, I am easily temptable to more kayaking, and I'll take the bow. [grin] Or we can find somewhere that has solo kayaks, so you can feel how it works when it's just you.
