Changing Jobs. And Cities.

A bunch of people already know about this, and I actually posted something about it on Facebook (via Twitter) on the day that I told my staff a couple of weeks ago. But of course I posted too soon (premature twitteration?) because Seaves hadn't really talked things over with her boss or other people she works with, some of whom are friends of mine ( Read more... )

Absolutely! There are no fewer than five Starbucks within walking distance from my office building.

You'll love living in the DC area, I'm sure. It's a fantastic place.

My sister lives in Alexandria and has found multiple options for child care - her girls are 2 and 4. Want me to get some names from her ?

Congrats to you all!

I would love to have you have your sister send me her daycare provider information! She can leave it here, or e-mail me at weaklingrecords at gmail dot com. Thanks very much!

You'll be missed here at MSU, but I can't blame you for moving - it sounds like a really great opportunity, and D.C. is just such a happening place - congratulations! Does Claire also have a new gig in the big city?

Seaves doesn't have a gig yet, but she can work for the Governor remotely through January, so that gives her some time. We love it there. I lived there from '97-2001, and Seaves lived there and worked for a Congressman from '99-2001. Good Times ahead! (after we get through all the stressful transition stuff...)

Cool beans! And you never know, Granholm might be following you to the Capital... ;-) I'm in D.C. a lot for federal meeting and grant stuff, I hope we'll stay in touch and maybe hang out sometime!

Congrats!! That's amazing!

Also if you decide you want to go the in-home care route and have a personal touch with a nanny, definitely post something in the childcare area of craigslist. When i started nannying years and years and years ago as a college sophomore I started at $10 an hour. Not sure if that helps, but it may be an idea. :)

Anyway, congrats on the new gig!
