It is unconscionable, irresponsible, disingenuous, insulting, and immoral to say that "no one anticipated the insurgency's strength," as Donald Rumsfeld did recentlyFor two solid years in the lead-up to the invasion of Iraq, some of the best military and civilian planners were putting together plans, making worst-case scenario predictions, and ( Read more... )

I need to copy and paste and print your journal entries for when my mother comes to visit. We don't call her Wendoleeza Rice for nothing.

She protested the Vietnam war like a good little hippie. If you ask her why, she'd say, because she didn't agree with sending young boys to be mowed down in a war that wasn't ours, defending people who didn't want us there. And I can get behind that, right? Right! That's it man, you nailed it. Pass the joint.

Now, she has dinner on the presidential yacht with Dubbya and Rumsfeld. And defends them, and yells liberation and freedom and democracy with the most deluded of them. And the men and women we send to be mowed down are there because they LOVE THEIR COUNTRY. Yeah. That's it Ms. Rice.. you nailed it. Pass the wool.

I'm just continually amazed at how docile the American public is about this. Maybe it's a commentary on how few people in America are actually affected by the military's involvement in Iraq. But as a member of a lifelong military family, and someone who has a sibling and a brother-in-law still on active duty, I just can't fathom how these guys, especially Rumsfeld, are still actively employed by the government. OUR government. Fuck you, Rumsfeld, YOU work for ME.

Dude, he works for YOU? Then it's YOUR fault! Give him his pink slip already!

Does this mean you're the President?
