It's quite the musical group you've got there.

I was just reflecting today about the musical proclivities of many members of my FL and decided I'd try to detail them. If you read this and I leave something out, throw the correction my way.

It's all behind a cut, since there's a lot of info here. Abandon all hope and yadda yadda. )

monday is music day, mad skillz, musicians, music

A friend of mine recently participated with an album called Virtual Strangers. The gist was pretty cool. Basically, a fellow wrote a piece of music and enlisted the help of 4 or 5 other musicians. Each records their part and sends it on. It ends up back in the hands of the composer for editing and mixdown.

I think that's pretty darn cool.

Thanks for the props. Having sampled a fair bit of your music to download, I gotta say that I'm a fan of Weakling Records. :)

Yes, mervlurks and I demand a Bad Boys Running Wild shout-out...Scorpions covers all the live-long day. And "You're The Best" from The Karate Kid (in the style of The Scorpions).

I'm primarily a bass player...Actually, until bassmike gave me his old-school keyboards I was strictly a bass player.

Oh, boy, "You're the Best" is so terrifically entrenched in my head now. I'm gonna go pick a fight.

You know what? Just for you, later today I'll post an mp3 of us practicing "You're The Best". No point keeping the earworm-age to ourselves!

I'd like to thank... bussboy August 1 2006, 14:31:48 UTC
oh man, I'm honored to be behind your cut! I can't take credit for playing drums or bass, but I dabble on piano (not featured) and owe my drumming skills to Reason.

We should all get together and collaborate on some overly emotional ballad like that Simpons episode where every one got together to sing a song for Timmy stuck in the Well...

The lewkng/bassmike/mervlurker high school band was called Entropy.

Thanks. I could only come up with "an increasing tendency toward randomness" but I knew that wasn't right.

Sounds like a Momentary Lapse Of Reason to me...
