When you have a lost and homeless friend whose best friend-type-thing is a forty-seven foot long sparkly telepathic dragon, what is the logical thing to do?
Why, set up an outdoor café with condos above it of course!
... hey, a job's a job and a place to live is a place to live, right? And it's one that I'amer can share with his dragon friend, and

"Whenever you are ready," she says, barely audible. These two--I'amer and Colm... if such as thing was possible, she felt more comfortable around them than any other being she had encountered in her travels.

He crosses over to the counter and then hops up to take a seat on it. "Maybe we should go ahead and open up, since we're ready," he says thoughtfully, reaching over for the jar of little lollipops to snitch one. He unwraps it and pops it in his mouth. "Ah... blueberry." He grins around the stick.

"Gabranth!"
"X-ZONE!"
A dark field of stars opens under their feet -- the rest of the world shrinks away as the hole in the universe closes around them --
and there is wind screaming past him cold and biting roaring in his ears and he can't keep his eyes closed and all he can see is nothing and
Is this it, Xemnas? Kefka? ... Xion? The nothingness you so desire?
He falls for a long, long time.

There is light again, sunlight, all around him and blinding. He is lying on his back, staring up at the sky, which is so brilliantly blue blue blue that it hurts to look at. He blinks once, twice, screws his eyes together for a moment, then opens them again. Blue. A small breeze drifts across his face, carrying the smells of a city in good weather.

I'amer ran out of the café and stared up at the roof. Aurenth? What in Faranth's name is going on?!
Two men with weapons fell out of the sky and landed on me!

During the day, she searches. So far the city--Nicander, she learned yesterday--has been somewhat quiet. There are people bustling about, but it's been calm. Peaceful. It would be a nice reprieve if she wasn't alone. When she reaches the café, however, things change. Ista, the sign says--but it isn't the sign that catches her attention.
It's the gigantic dragon on the top of the building. There are people up there with it, and she can hear shouting, though she can't make out what's being said. As she watches, they disappear into the building.
Her curiosity gets the better of her, and she goes inside.

She looks at you, and eyes that green should not belong on a human. "Ah--another new arrival, then? I suppose this saves us the trouble of repeating the explanation multiple times." She makes a sweeping gesture at one of the tables.
"Please, have a seat, miss...?"

"Don't mind us or the, um... chaos," he says cheerfully, waving his hand at Gabranth and Saïx. The latter of the two eyeticks. "They're new here, too, you see. In fact, they just got here!" He jumps the last couple of steps. "So, how about a group explanation, hmm?"
