This is great! At first I was like, is this going where I think it's going? Surely not! But then it DID, and it was HILARIOUS. Accidental porn director Ray is so great.

I love the Ray voice! Love the little background glimpses of Brad and Walt together that we get. Ugh I love them. I love Brad being a fucking dick, that's how we love him. Brad, the asshole, waits until Ray’s got a mouthful of Stone’s Double Bastard - see, Ray knew there must’ve been a reason Brad went to the trouble of finding his favorite beer when it’s nowhere close to time for the new release, so excellent.

I really love this. I'm a big fan of the outsider POV stories and this was so well done. I love the idea that Ray ends up doing something like this by accident and because of word of mouth. The voices and characterizations are fucking perfect, and I love that you gave me Brad/Walt. There needs to be more of them in the world. :)

You are welcome! I had an alternate idea but failed so hard at working out all the logistics, but then that photo and the end of DADT approaching sort of coalesced into something else entirely.

I sort of wanted to write the Brad/Walt porn, but it didn't want to happen in my head. So that's where it ended. Lucky it fit with the prompt, yes? No matter how comfortable Ray has become as a no-longer-amateur porn director, he really does not need to see Brad and Walt fucking. There isn't enough brain bleach in the world to erase that from his head.

I love that you've written Ray's accidental adventure in making porn movies for marines and their SO's the way you did. It so easily could've been done in a... (I'm having trouble finding the right word for what I mean here, sorry) more crude or PWP tone. And there's really nothing wrong with that! But I like that you've got Ray almost matter-of-fact about it. Almost. It definitely made me laugh a few times (Walt's not-really-casual inquiring about the camera and "Ray is totally comfortable with his sexuality. Which is why he’s really hoping Steph’s home when he gets there." for example) and as well as loving the Brad/Walt, I really liked Ray/Steph.

Thank you! When the idea first popped into my head, I thought it was going to be all PWP. But then when I sat down to write it, that is not what came out, and I was a bit worried that it'd be a disappointment.
