Sooo... I'm getting a tattoo! Cool, huh? I want to get it on both of my ankles because I'm afraid the lyrics won't fit on just one. I mean, I know I could pretty much get it wrapped if I wanted too, but I just don't want it to be too fucking...awkward looking. I mean, I'm sure I'd like it but I have no idea what kind of job I might be looking at ( Read more... )

I love tattoos so much, I can't even explain it. And I like those lyrics, even though I'm not really a Bright Eyes fan.

And fuck those people. I've wanted Fall Out Boy lyrics tattooed on me for four years now, and once I turn eighteen I'm totally getting them. People have said the exact same things to me and I don't care...even if they're angsty they represent such an influential time in my life and it's shaped who I am. So get what you want! lol now I'm getting all preachy ):

lol! nah, not preachy. i feel the same way :) it DOES represent an important time in your life, so who the hell cares?

Man, I'm getting my first tattoo, and a lot of people think that my ideas are stupid and gimmicky, but they all mean something to me. Like, when I first got my dog, she was so sick she couldn't walk to get her own food and water, and to keep myself awake to take care of her I played Super Mario 3. So I wanted to get a tattoo of a Boo, on my arm, for my dog (she's seriously my baby). But a lot of people think that's stupid. But you have to just...it's your body, you know? It's about what it means to *you*.

yeah. i'm like, "fuck it" at this point. it DOES mean something to me...sometimes it's just hard in the face of ridicule.

oh.. that's such a sweet story about your dog! how long have you had her?

Pretty much how you have to be.

Since May! She's very well now, runs all around the house and eats up basically my entire house.

As long as it is what you want, go for it. :)
Everyone always says "But what will it looks like when you're 80?" The hell with that, live for today, not the future.

As far as it going on your ankles, prepare for paaaaain. The skin that's stretched thin over bones tends to hurt more than fleshy areas, but this also all depends on your pain tolerance. My mother slept through all her tattoos. I clench my fists, grit my teeth, and yell at the artist. Haha. Have you considered having the quote on your foot, curving around it, and hitting just where a pair of flats would? That's another place to consider if you're worried about wrapping the text.

Also, make sure you're going to a reputable shop. This is an obvious tip but it can't be stressed enough.

I dunno. My ankles are pretty thick O__O lol. I'm not too concerned about pain really.. Like, I pretty much like if you get what I mean, ha ha. And needles have never freaked me up. Mostly what I'm worried about now is the location of it.

Hmm. The curving thing sounds interesting. Could you find a pic to explain what you're talking about? :] I'm open to all suggestions. I pretty much want to stick to the feet area though, but as for the layout.. suggest away.

I've got super thick ankles, so I know what you mean. Except I'm embarrassed of mine.

This is what I was talking about, I used to have a better photo but my PC ate it.

omg, dude. I love that! It's gorgeous, ha ha. Sincerely.

I thought about having something like that...I kind of just wonder how all my words would fit on there though. Luckily I still have more time to mull over it.

But your tattoo is badass. You have my respect ;D

awesome.
first tattoo's are always so exciting (and anxious!)
persoanlly i have a lot of tattoo's, sleeve's and chest peices and back peice.
and i vowed to myself to never get a tattoo with any meaning to me, all my tattoo's are purely things i i visually like (disney and flowers and a geisha etc)

so i will probably be no help! but seeing as though 98% of people end up regretting their first tattoo, i would def suggest starting small. Lyrics are always an easy option :) and that's super that they mean something to you.

Oh and eat something sugary before you go to get tattooed!
ankle bones hurt.

Money is the only thing holding me back from a tattoo. And who cares what anyone thinks of what you put on your body. I've wanted Madonna lyrics for the longest time, even though some will think it's completely weird.

Nah- not weird. I think it'd be badass! lol.

Money is something that is a concern for me too x.X Ugh. lol. But my mom is pretty much going to pay for it, seeing how I am SO broke right now. I only have money for Christmas pretty much.

I've already had mine priced at around $75, but that is seriously half of my car payment. D: I may have to wait until I get my tax return next year.

Aww, dude. I'm so sorry = /. Here you are working and paying car payments, and I don't work and am pretty much worthless, lol.

Seriously. We NEED to get you that Madonna tattoo! lol. I'll write Santa at once and inform him of this injustice. D:
