Oh, is it showing? *looks down* Yes, I guess it is, but that was the whole point, wasn't it? *g*

I'm soooo happy you approve *whew* because I know you were like wtf? when I asked permission to tag along on ITCOL. And it's always dicey when you mess with someone else's creation. So thanks again for letting me mess with your creation. It was so FUN!!! and the most writing I've done in a shamefully long time. *hugs you*

What? I was totally surpised - caught off guard, fall into the lake sort of surprised - that ITCOL inspired you to write but I was certainly happy about it. It's true though. It's dicey when you mess with someone else's work but I solemnly swear I won't pull you into court JKR-style. Bahaha. I'm glad you had fun with this! What a lovely surprise! *g*

Bravo. Nicely done.

I'm in love with Draco all over again.

The Autumn/Winter metaphor was great.

Okay, I have to start at the end because I love the last line. I would, wouldn't I? I think even before Astoria entered the scene, I didn't want them to look back. I wanted them to reach a moment where they realized that they had to swallow the mistakes they made and move on. I feel like you gave me hope for Draco (perhaps a Draco/Astoria drabble then?). Okay, okay, I admit, you hardly meant to give me that. [No, I didn't use that icon on purpose...just like you never use that awful Boyd yarn thing purposefully ( ... )

OW! You would make me fall back in love with this couple and this fandom. Your story hurts so much.

And these shattering denouncements:

"a freakish by product of too much time spent looking into the eyes of death."

"feeling rattled and exponentially alive was related to the death he faced rather than the woman he had held in his arms."

Bleak and cold, madame, sitting on top the oddly childlike:

"Something squishy fell out of his chest and hit the ground with a splat."

Just to kick it in with a chaser of gutwrenching vulnerability. Like licking the knife after it cuts you.

Well done.

I wish you would fall back in love with this couple! *sigh* I've been stumbling lately so I'm glad you find something that tickled your fancy in this jumble of words. Me? I fancy this line... "Like licking the knife after it cuts you." Delightful. I love your wicked way with words.

Hee, I like how you two play off each other! Keep them coming - I believe it's your turn again, BA has thrown another hook and line out there *g*

I like the imagery of the seasons - the hopeful spring that is past, the autumn that signifies their growing up and shedding the 'leaves' of a life past, and the harsh winter that he knows is coming, and still, he won't look back. I liked that. It's weird - I never thought I'd come to appreciate this bittersweetness in an ending so much, but maybe you've redefined angstiness for me. It's delicious when you write it :) And the sullen edge he has at the end, in spite of all his painfully acquired maturity, that's *so* Draco. Haha! Great to see you write and post! More now, please! :D

PS: I only have one Draco icon left - a WTF one - so you're getting something nicer-but-fandom-unrelated to show my appreciation *g*

I'm so happy you liked this one, Peki, esp the small nod you gave to the underlying angst. I'm honored. *g* And I love the TH icon. It's love. Thank you, although a WTF Draco icon would have been appropriate as well. Lol!

As for BA, that girl is going to stalk me until I spit out some D/A. She is. OMG. *headpole* I better get started, no? Only problem is that my Draco is not so much the gentleman as her Draco is. I hope she won't come after me with a rolling pin...
