Rocktober Begins!
That's right, guys, hold onto your hats because Rocktober is here - a month-long kick start fandom project, designed to inspire, entertain and most of all, get people active in fandom again. We all know it's been quiet in these parts lately, and not just here at we_pimpin - GK fandom as a whole hasn't been very active. Which is a shame, because I believe that this is one of the greatest fandoms out there - we have amazing fic, amazing discussions and, most importantly, amazing people.
So I started trying to think of ways to change this and with the help of my co-mods, timeofnoreplyand schlicky, Rocktober was born. An entire month devoted to fandom with - this being we_pimpin where Ray is always the motherfucking answer - a special focus on everyone's favourite hick wordsmith. All this month we'll be putting up posts designed to get fans involved again, from the simple (favourite Ray quotes and pics) to the in-depth (characterization discussions and personal head-cannon). There'll be drabble party posts, rec-lists and writing challenges. It's going to rock.
The other mods and I will be posting around four times a week, and everyone will be invited to join in with these set posts. But we also encourage you to put up your own posts - anything and everything is welcome. Keep it fun and relevant, and we'll embrace it with gusto. Because we can't do this without you. we_pimpin has over three hundred members, imagine if everyone contributed just a couple of comments? Imagine if half posted a picture, or a quarter put up a drabble? This could be huge.
So let's kick things off right now. Come on in here and say hello, tell us where you've been, tell us what other fandoms have caught your eye recently. Think of it like a catch-up post! Say hello to old friends, make some new ones, give us your ideas, and get ready for a solid month of Ray-related shenanigans.
