I like this. Like vr2lbast said, the show made the switch too perfect/convenient. This works, considering all the things Estet was into. It'd make sense that Estet psychics would believe in these kinds of rituals, even if they weren't regular practitioners themselves.
This ends in a really creepy way! I liked their interactions - they seemed to play off each other so naturally. And the soup bowl did make me chuckle - nice one in otherwise rather serious story.
I really liked this, particularly Crawford's varying confidence in his magical expertise, plus the way his practical nature comes through despite the circumstances.

I really enjoyed this! There were a lot of little details I found brilliant -- Schu contemplating which way to go about the locked door, soup bowl exchange, to name a few -- and I think this just all around, works.
