Rhinos would possibly be more docile, but still:

Admittedly, the cat-aggressiveness and territorial instincts could be issues, but nothing we couldn't work through.

Definitely not a hippo! Ar least not a male. They spin their tail like a propeller while defecating in order to fling poo to mark their territory!
