Okay, I want to try the challenge, but I'm confused as to how you post for the challenge. I'm new to LJ, and I' haven't figured out how to navigate it so far. Should I post it in my own lj like regular posts?
Please let me know. I haven't tried anything in any communities until now.

That's up to you. But, yes you can post it to your own LJ; or you can post it directly to Writers' Choice.
If you post it to your own LJ, then you just post an entry to Writers' Choice with the URL so people can read your drabble (make sure you join the community first).
If you want to post it directly to Writers' Choice, then in the "Post to:" dropdown box you pick writers_choice (again make sure you join the community first).
