Being able to babysit on the weekends, simply so I could stay up late and watch stuff like "The Midnight Special", "Don Kirschner's Rock Concert" and what is now known as the original cast of "Saturday Night Live"...
Wait, you're talking before then? Gah, let's see if I can get the memory going again... ;)
Not a whole lot, truth be told. I was a very serious child. The kind who'd read the newspaper front to back, and found Barbies infinitely boring unless we were re-enacting the kidnapping or whatever was going on during the most recent Police Woman episode...
Mostly TV: old films, Dr Who, Star Trek (Original series), the Avengers. I was a sickly child battling epilepsy and not into sport of any kind. I would draw: comics, doodles, anything.

The Tootsie Rolls that Garry O would put in the bag with our fries at the drive-in down the hill from the house I grew up in.
Huckleberry soft serve ice cream in a cone, preferably eaten while trampling mint plants underfoot.
Scavenger hunts in the neighborhood.
Being allowed to walk down to the beach with a group of friends to spend the day getting fried.
Going to see the sisters on our block who were both widowers and sharing tea time with them.
My gigantic trunk of old prom dresses, beat up fur coats and the like that I used to play dress-up with.
Making birdhouses of my own design in my dad's workshop in the basement.
Stretching out in my sleeping bag on the porch swing during a lightning storm, watching the flashes and enjoying the storm.
Standing out in a chinook wind without a coat in the middle of the winter.
Better?

Now I can't even pick up a book without feeling like I'm back in Junior school being bullied - consequently I rarely read for pleasure anymore.
