O Pioneers!

I'd say I'm currently reading Wendy McClure's The Wilder Life: My Adventures in the Lost World of Little House on the Prairie, but I am rapidly approaching the past tense of that statement. I think you have thanked her - not only by remembering, but by being the person you've grown into. Any influence you have on others is clearly affected by your grandmother (and your parents didn't do a bad job either). She's a wonderful woman, and I'm grateful to have known her...and you.

On that note, I too often find myself thinking of my grandmother and grandfather, who died when I was in high school. There are things I wish I had been able to tell them, and as you said, just to say thank you, for how amazingly supportive of my childhood they were. Grandparents are truly amazing people. We're lucky we got the best ;)
