[Dated Sunday, March 15th]Sharon was probably getting damned sick of him already but John didn't care. He was always popping into New Atlantis unannounced and today was no exception. Hera heard the Vespa and ran out of the hut first, squealing in delight. "John!" she cried, grabbing his legs in a hug. "Can I go?"

Sharon appeared in the doorway soon after, looking a little tired, but pleased. "Hi. I was wondering if you'd come by today," she said. "Hera was asking about you."

John had barely stepped off the Vespa before his leg was locked in a toddler-sized bear hug.

"Hera," he half-greeted, half-laughed. "Oof, you're gettin' stronger by the day. You feel like havin' a little bita mercy on an old guy like me?"

He grinned down at her, then glanced up when he heard her mother's voice. "Wonderin' time's over," he said, one corner of his mouth hitching up.

"No-o," Hera replied in a sing-song voice, holding out her arms so he'd pick her up.

"Well you're just in time for lunch. I'm making some sandwiches, do you want one?" she asked, holding onto the doorframe with one hand, already halfway inside.

At Hera's response, John laughed long and loud. "Didn't figure, but it didn't hurt to ask," he said, ruffling her hair before hoisting her up. Slinging Hera against his hip, John nodded once at Sharon's offer. "That'd be great, thanks."

As he took a step closer to the hut, he inclined his head toward Hera. "Bet Mommy's making you a pea sandwich, kiddo."
