Either Mel's gun had been turned up higher than she intended, OR she deliberatly left it on 11 because she doesn't like the man she was shooting and wanted him to suffer. She's not even sure which, now.
Whichever it was, he's been unconscious longer than she expected, and she can add worry to her highly disquiet state of mind. She doesn't spend a lot of time that's not in the office right now; sitting and waiting, and playing darts with a picture of her brother.
