On this thread,
terminal_frost/
stripenfoxen and
yakalskovich bring you the newest in divination and anthropomorphic personification: two more Tarot cards, Tower (the Tower,
destroy_restart) and Misery (the Five of Pentacles,
ladyofmisery), that are both cards with very strong negative connotations - so here's a little caution in order to make your pups' interaction with them a pleasant one.
Note from Maru: Tower is the embodiment of false certainties crumbling and finally making way for a new start; hence his journal name. However, the necessary process in human development he represents is almost always a rather painful one. Your pups are very welcome to chat to him casually, and he will be polite, of course - but expect him to poke at weaknesses along these lines that he sees. Cherished illusions are toast.-
Please do read
his user info here and ping the mun, especially if you want to do anything drastic. Tower can do drastic if wanted.
To sweeten that pill, he will also do tarot readings for pups when asked, or provoked to offer. This is how I will do them: I will use the program mentioned in his user info (which you read, after all!), randomise a 'Celtic Cross' spread with that, and then take a screen cap that I will link into the thread, so we have an actual image to be discussed in character.
That works surprisingly well - when I randomised a sample spread for a sample cap to show to Misery-mun, Tower put himself in the position meaning 'What this is all about' and Misery in the position for 'the others'. He's an entity that lives and is invoked in many minds, and has a strong archetypal presence. I trust him to come up with random spreads that will make sense in he context of the other pup's plot.
Also, we will be talking in IM while doing that, so Tower will not give away anything your charrie should deparately not know.-
Thank you!
Note from Tiger: Misery, being the fifth in the suit of Pentacles, is the personification of that card. The Five of Pentacles is a card representing a loss of some sort. It also represents the feeling of being left out in the cold. This is a card of the depressive personality, the one who feels ostracised by those around them, or have suffered a loss of some kind [a death, a breakup, etc.]. It can also represent poverty, either material or of the spirit.
In short, Misery represents some kind of lack or loss. A feeling of coming up short or being excluded from something, and Misery being what she is, is likely to stir those feelings in people-particularly those vulnerable to them [people who suffer a mental illness of some kind, for example]. But only at the player's discretion. Like all cards they only affect those willing to be affected.
The mun wishes to say that reading
Misery's profile will help you to understand her better, and thus make interractions easier on everyone.
Contact information is also included, to ensure that the player is reachable via one method or other.
Like Tower, Misery can do readings, however, being a moody sort she might refuse to do one at all, especially since she's more inclined to mope than to help others out when they need it.
Unlike Tower the mun's not using any computer program, just real hands-on cards, which means things'll be a touch slower for both parties.
