I'm pleased you think I managed to convey Lucas's voice. Using first person is not something I normally attempt. Maybe intelligent but dense comes naturally to me! I wanted to try looking at the finale from the point of view of someone else who'd been on the receiving end of one of Cuddy's seemingly arbitrary changes of direction. Many thanks for commenting.
Neatly done. Not blaming Cuddy for the crash, but assuming her responsibilities in the failing relationship. Each character has a misery of its own. You've been near the show long enough to acknowledge it and write it without being depressing. This, and all that Readingrat said, too.
"Each character has a misery of its own" How right you are, Vicpei. I'm glad I don't live in David Shore's head, brilliant man though he is. His view of the human condition is bleak; though, considering the recent events in my own homeland, he has a point! I'm glad you didn't find it depressing; I think Lucas is one of those people who in real life always bob back to the surface.
My day job allows me to witness very bleak, but also very admirable people and gestures. I agree with House (and Shore, unfortunately) that we all end up alone, and there is not much dignity left at the end. That doesn't mean you can't take the sparks before (or, to quote my beloved Pythons, look at the bright side of life :). I'm generally good at pointing this to my patients. I'm a comforting doc. Wish I could do something, here ;).
I admire both your profession and your ability to suport your patients, often when you have very difficult news to convey.( I'm definitely not with House in his dismissive attitude toward Wilson's skills in that area.)
I'm delighted you love the Pythons. It will mean something to you, then, when I say that having read all this heated argument about House's behaviour in the last few episodes, I feel like quoting Brian's mum when she says "He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!"
