“Why not!?” George stared at the blonde girl who was glaring up at him.
Everything was coming to a breaking point.  For years now decision had been made that would decide the fate of thousands of witches and wizards.  Good had gathered every strong person of goodness, courage, and honor to the battlefield, while evil had drawn those of hatred, prejudice, and malice to its dangerous side.  The battle was beginning, and George didn’t know what to do with Hannah Abbott who stared angrily up at him.
“Look, Hannah, you need to evacuate with the others.”  George didn’t know Hannah that well, but he did know that her mother had been murdered last year. Despite the fact that she had been trained as a soldier with the DA, she couldn’t possibly be ready for the battle that was to come.
Violently, Hannah shook her head, “No!  Absolutely not!  I’m not going to left behind, while you get to fight those who murdered my mum!”
George frowned, everything inside him strained against the very idea of letting a young girl put herself in this kind of danger.  However, before he could protest again, Hannah took position across from him and began helping first years climb into the secret passage to lead them to Hogsmeade.  He opened his mouth, but another glare from her silenced him.  As they worked together to save the children, he noticed her concealing tears with the back of her hand.
When Hannah helped the last frightened Slytherin first year threw the tunnel, she turned to climb back into the Room of Requirement.  George put a hand on her shoulder.  Hannah whirled around, ready to bite his head off if he tried to stop her again.  With a sheepish face, George simply asked, “are you ready, Hannah?”
Hannah half-smiled at him and nodded, “quite, George.  Let’s find the others.”
George led the way out of the room, “you’re mum would be proud.”
“I know,” Hannah smiled at him as she pulled out her wand.  “It’s time.”
