Just looked up my Music Appreciation class online, and there are 20 people signed up! Jesus, I'd better figure out what I am going to do with them all for 40 classes. Also, @#$^#$!@#*(!! grading. I am already depressed.

(I had had this mental image of a class of 3-5 people. Probably b/c it's been so much work to get people into the chorus.)

it's a lot easier to convince people that they want to learn more about classical music so they can appreciate it, than to convince people their singing voice is worth listening to :)

From watching American Idol auditions, I don't think the problem is people thinking their singing voice is worth listening to... :)

But that really is my biggest problem at the college. Where are all these egotistical American Idol auditionees? Nowhere in my life!

If the class gets to a certain size, will they pay you to teach 2 sections instead of 1? Doesn't help the workload, though...

I guess maybe, but for a lecture class, I think that number has to be rather bigger than 20. :)
