[This person sounds very reasonable, which is a trait Kratos can appreciate. But there's something in this message that catches his interest more than that.]

Yes. My dearest friend, who I was with when he died back where I came from, is alive here. We share one of the 'apartments' now, in fact.

[ A little pause. ]

I remember him perishing on the field of battle, one which our army lost. He, however, remembers winning that battle and both of us surviving to the end of it.

An understandable feeling. Though I wonder if this situation is a cause for alarm. If whatever brought us here has the power to revive the dead and alter memories, who knows what else it's capable of?

There is definitely some great power, or perhaps powers, at work here, and the full scope of what they are capable of... well. Who can say? I have not been here for long enough to judge beyond that.

The fact that they were even able to pull people from their worlds into this one... that is a great feat of magic in itself, if magic is what it is. And I know not what else could be responsible.

Whatever it is, such great power could be used for direful purposes. Who's to say they haven't altered all our memories somehow?

[He sounds a little worried now.]

[Kratos has his own things to worry about. What if his memories are fake and Mithos was never defeated? What if he died in that battle, just like this man's friend? He's silent for a moment, before continuing the conversation.]

There is at least one person we can confront about this, though I'm not certain if he will tell the truth. He's been rather dodgy from the start.
