Fic: the mandroid way he moved

How pristinely everything went to shit.

There was a woman, a dumb barely-woman from the apartment complex down the street. She still wore her hair in pigtails. She bought Dean a drink that tasted like sweet tea and nothing else. He drank seven of them and lost at poker, lost everything but the few hundred dollars they kept stashed in the Impala's ( Read more... )

"She found us,"

Aww. Love the comparison of the Impala with a mother. She is, indeed - I can almost hear her sweet rumble!

Love the way you describe how everything go to hell in one night - the Impala and everything in it missing, people's indifference, and Dean's arthritis thrown in the middle for good measure. It really shows how precarious their situation is, how quickly they could be homeless.

And thanks for the lovely image of them huddled together in the alcove. ^^

We have snow today and I actually felt really cold reading this, poor boys, I wanted to pick them right up and put them in my pocket to keep them warm!! Or maybe I could think of some other ways to keep them warm :D :D

Loved this, thank you.

Oh yay! I'm glad I managed to convey how damned cold it was.

Or maybe I could think of some other ways to keep them warm

HAHAHA! I'm sure I could think of a few ways myself... :D

Thank you so much for reading :)

That was amazing!
It was so heartbreaking the way it all went to shit for them so fast! all it took was losing the Impala and that was it, she's their home!
and she found them!

It astonishes me how very easy a person can go from being fine to being desperate to almost dying. We all think we're so secure, then one little thing happens to remind us how fragile that security is. I loved the story. They really need to get Sam to a doctor. He was just hit by a car for heaven's sake!

Yeah, I've always thought it was kind of awesome how unhindered Sam and Dean are, without bills or debt or even legal identities. But it's also rather scary. I mean, I really piled on the odds in this situation but it's weird to think that if they lose their car, they lose everything.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, mah dear :) Thank you.

Wonderful. As everything kept going faster and faster downhill, I kept wondering how you were going to get them out of their predicament. Should've known the Impala would find them. That was just perfect :)

Thank you! I have to admit, it was totally the Impala's idea to come to the rescue... in earlier drafts, the original ending was very different. Good old Impala :)

Glad you enjoyed, and thank you for reading.
