Aww. Love the comparison of the Impala with a mother. She is, indeed - I can almost hear her sweet rumble!
Love the way you describe how everything go to hell in one night - the Impala and everything in it missing, people's indifference, and Dean's arthritis thrown in the middle for good measure. It really shows how precarious their situation is, how quickly they could be homeless.
And thanks for the lovely image of them huddled together in the alcove. ^^

It was so heartbreaking the way it all went to shit for them so fast! all it took was losing the Impala and that was it, she's their home!

Yeah, I've always thought it was kind of awesome how unhindered Sam and Dean are, without bills or debt or even legal identities. But it's also rather scary. I mean, I really piled on the odds in this situation but it's weird to think that if they lose their car, they lose everything.
