Oh.. this.. THIS was just priceless. Both boys licking their wounds; deep cuts revealing the severed lives they've never known. Knowing they still need each other no matter their dreams.

The house-hunting reality show on tv is a genius backdrop.

...he and Dean speed over the peak of a hill just as the sun dips low in the sky, and the clouds lounge like whip cream on the burnt and purple horizon, and the warm wind is perfect for classic rock even though it’s a song he’s heard a million, trillion times.

How picturesque! Such a stark contrast to the moldy motel room and the debilitating physical pain. Together, the beautify and ugly, the serenity and misery form a full spectrum of a life that's fully lived. Yeah, I can see why Sam says: “this is okay with me.”

I liked the idea of them watching that show and the differences between their life and whats on screen. And you didn't gloss over their life (bedbugs) but somehow its all they want. Thanks for sharing.
